Dr. S. “Pete” Worden, (Brig Gen, USAF, Ret, PhD) held several US Air Force positions and a research professorship at the University of Arizona, Dr. Worden was then Director of NASA’s Ames Research Center. He now leads the Breakthrough Initiatives, a privately funded suite of space science programs to find life beyond earth and explore interstellar space. He is also an Advisor to the Luxembourg Space Agency and was knighted by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for his space services.
Dr. Worden will present Breakthrough Listen, looking for signs of extraterrestrial technology; Breakthrough Watch, looking for nearby exoplanets; Breakthrough Starshot, engineering a light-driven probe for Alpha Centauri; and other space science programs to find life beyond earth and explore the cosmos.
Ole Dokka, director and founder of Spaceport Norway, is a driving force in Norway’s space industry. With a background at Telenor and Equinor, his innovative work has gained international acclaim.Through his annual “Spaceport Norway” conference, he’s become a beloved figure in the student space scene, accelerating the careers of hundreds of students by involving 100 students annually in his conferences.
He can also be spotted along various roads throughout the country, either on his Triumph or Harley Davidson motorcycle, regardless of weather conditions.
