Built to perform. The Phoenix 1 rocket is among the most daring student rocket projects ever conceived. Set to launch from our very own Spaceport at Utsira in Rogaland, Norway. This rocket stands at an impressive 8 meters of length, with a powerful engine able to produce up to 16 kN of thrust. A test launch in 2025 will be followed by an attempt to reach space, possibly as early as 2026.

Liquid Bipropellant Pressure Fed Rocket Engine

Built for reliability. The Berserkr 310 is made from Inconel 718, a Nickel-based superalloy and boasts and impressive 16kN of thrust. 3D-printed using Selective Laser Melting (SLM) techniques with the help of our sponsor DMG MORI, this engine is a testament to UiS Aerospace’s commitment to develop serious flight-hardware that can be rigorously tested before launches, and reused for multiple flights.

Igniter 400-B-2 “Iggy”

Our very own Igniter (totally not copied from official NASA drawings) uses gaseous Hydrogen and Oxygen to produce a flame to ignite the propellants coming out of the Injector Plate.

Injector Plate

Ensures proper mixing of liquid propellants in the combustion chamber.

Combustion Chamber

Contains the forces of the combustion and ensures thrust is produced by accelerating particles through a nozzle section.
